Successful Project Collaboration with Animal Free Research UK
At OrganoTherapeutics, we are committed to conducting ethical research while prioritizing animal welfare. This commitment drives our collaboration with organizations like Animal Free Research UK to advance innovative, animal-free research methods.
In our latest project, we cultured human iPSC-derived midbrain organoids using various animal-free extracellular matrices, as well as in a matrix-free environment. While the animal-free extracellular matrices did not perform as effectively in our models, we found that culturing organoids without a matrix can be just as effective for most of our standard assays.
Additionally, we evaluated several recombinant antibodies, which serve as animal-free alternatives to conventional antibodies. These recombinant antibodies successfully stained the organoids and penetrated the tissue with the same efficiency as traditional antibodies.
Overall, this project yielded valuable insights and reinforced the potential of animal-free research methodologies in biomedical science.
